Up to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Greasewood Springs, Steamboat, Cornfields, Sunrise Springs, Greasewood and Twin Buttes. This includes State Route 264 between mile markers 425 and 434. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Steamboat Wash, Pueblo Colorado Wash and Big Dam Wash. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become flooded as well. Fort Apache, Seven Mile, Whiteriver Airport, Turkey Creek, Whiteriver, Canyon Day and East Fork. This includes State Route 73 between mile markers 334 and 340. ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...All of northern Arizona, including Apache, Navajo, Coconino, Yavapai and northern Gila counties. * WHEN...From late tonight through late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...Flash flooding will be possible in creeks, normally dry washes, swimming holes, and over recently burned areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Increasing moisture will combine with a shortwave feature moving north across Arizona to bring multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms from late Tuesday night through Wednesday night. Thunderstorms will have the potential to produce heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding, especially in areas that receive repeated rounds of rainfall. - Additional information is available at weather.gov/flagstaff.
