...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL CABELL...WEST CENTRAL KANAWHA...SOUTHERN PUTNAM AND NORTHEASTERN LINCOLN COUNTIES THROUGH 330 PM EDT... At 307 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Culloden, or 8 miles north of Hamlin, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Nitro, Jefferson, St. Albans, Hurricane, Milton, Poca, Culloden, Tornado, Alum Creek, Teays Valley, Cross Lanes, and Bancroft. This includes the following highways... Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 25 and 48. Route 119 between mile markers 66 and 68. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
