For the Gale Warning, southwest winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and waves 3 to 6 ft expected. * WHERE...Chequamegon Bay-Bayfield to Oak Point WI, Port Wing to Sand Island WI, Sand Island to Bayfield WI and Oak Point to Saxon Harbor WI. * WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 8 AM CST this morning. For the Gale Warning, from 8 AM this morning to 11 PM CST this evening. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. ...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM CST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected. * WHERE...In Minnesota, Koochiching, North Itasca, Carlton, St. Louis, Cook and Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Fond du Lac Band, the Red Cliff Band, the Bad River Reservation, the Grand Portage Reservation, the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band and the Bois Forte Band, Deer Creek, Lake Vermilion and, Nett Lake areas. Other locations including the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, Madeline Island and Voyageurs National Park. The entire Boundary Waters is also included. * WHEN...From 9 AM this morning to 6 PM CST this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
