Special Weather Statement
Issued: 6:26 PM May. 4, 2026 – National Weather Service
...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING... Warm temperatures from the mid 60s to mid 70s, along with southwest winds gusting 35 to 40 mph, and RH values of 20 to 30 percent will result in elevated fire weather conditions through early this evening. The gusty winds could cause sporadic tree damage, leading to power line fires. The potential for wildfires will be most favored where fine fuels have dried out and where green up is not as advanced. Please check burning restrictions and fire danger before doing any burning today. For more information on burning restrictions for Wisconsin, see apps.dnr.wi.gov/wisburn.
