...HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON... ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding expected. Inundation of up to two feet above ground level is possible along shorelines and low-lying coastal areas. * WHERE...Grays Harbor County Coast zone, including Westport. * WHEN...Until 3 PM PST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Minor coastal flooding due to tidal overflow is expected around high tide. This may lead to flooding of parking lots, parks, and roads, with only isolated road closures expected. Strong surf can knock people off their feet, move driftwood and debris causing injury, and cause localized beach and coastal erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High surf will continue this morning, before waves begin to gradually subside later in the day Friday. Minor coastal flooding is expected around high tide on Friday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Inundation above ground level refers to the height above the Mean Higher High Water (MHHW) level. Never turn your back on the ocean and keep children and pets close. Know the tides and surf forecast. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots and/or seas 10 feet or higher are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions. &&
