...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM EST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Initial upslope snow followed by snow squalls expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches with up to 6 inches along the spine of the southern Green Mountains. * WHERE...In Massachusetts, Northern Berkshire County. In Vermont, Bennington County. * WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions, especially tonight during any travel for New Year's Eve celebrations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An initial period of light to moderate snow is expected this evening before an arctic cold front results in snow squalls during the pre-dawn hours of New Year's Day. Any snow squall can result in brief periods of whiteout conditions and hazardous travel conditions. Use caution if traveling tonight for any New Year's Eve celebrations.
