...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR SOUTHEASTERN IRON, WEST CENTRAL KANE AND SOUTHEASTERN WASHINGTON COUNTIES... At 438 PM MDT, Heavy rainfall brought 0.5 and 1 inch of rain across Zion National Park including the Virgin River as well as Gould Wash. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding on the Virgin River and Gould Wash. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of slot canyons, normally dry washes, and creeks. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Zion National Park, La Verkin, Apple Valley, Virgin, Springdale and Rockville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
