The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the initial warning area.Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However small hail is still possible with this thunderstorm. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service Salt Lake City. Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect for south central Kane County until 500 PM MDT.

Central Kane County in southern Utah... * Until 500 PM MDT. * At 423 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles west of Big Water, or 42 miles east of Kanab, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Big Water and Lake Powell. This includes US Route 89 between mile markers 0 and 21. Central Kane County in southern Utah... * Until 1045 PM MDT Saturday. * At 412 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across portions of the warned area, primarily over upper reaches of the Paria River and over the Paria River near the confluence with Cottonwood Creek. Water will flow downstream through Lower Hackberry Canyon, Bull Valley Gorge, and the Lower Paria River Canyon. Up to 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot canyons, and normally dry washes. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... areas within the Paria River drainage, including Bull Valley Gorge, Herm Pollock Slot Canyon, Lower Hackberry Canyon, and Lower Paria River Canyon.
