...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents and minor coastal flooding, especially
during times of high tides are expected.

* WHERE...Gulf-facing beaches, including the Matagorda
Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island and the
Bolivar Peninsula.

* WHEN...Through Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and beach conditions due to strong
rip currents and minor coastal flooding. Persistent strong
southeasterly winds will continue to bring a high risk of strong rip
currents and increased wave runup along all Gulf facing beaches.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

kt. Rough bay waters and Gulf seas 5 to 8 ft expected.

* WHERE...Portions of Gulf of America.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Scattered showers and thunderstorms are
also expected. Locally higher winds and seas possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
