Ice Storm Warning
Issued: 4:34 AM Jan. 25, 2026 – National Weather Service
...ICE STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Significant icing. Additional ice accumulations between two
tenths and one half of an inch.

* WHERE...Portions of central, southwest, and west central Louisiana
and southeast Texas.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on
power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting
power outages. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the
ice. Travel could be nearly impossible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you
must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will
keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to
reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a
hat will keep you from losing your body heat.

Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use
extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.

Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra
flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
Prepare for possible power outages. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
