Special Weather Statement
Issued: 6:00 AM Feb. 4, 2026 – National Weather Service
...AREAS OF FOG THIS MORNING, LOCALLY DENSE... Much of East Tennessee, southwest Virginia, and portions of southwest North Carolina have been experiencing foggy conditions as rain and snowmelt have contributed to fog formation tonight. Fog is likely to continue overnight, with the potential for dense fog at times overnight. Conditions should improve around daybreak for much of the valley, although fog or very low stratus may linger over areas that received heavy snowfall over the weekend. Drivers should practice safe fog safety while commuting, with larger following distances and the use of low beam headlights. Be cautious of sudden drops in visibility.
