* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, northeast winds 20 to 25 kt
with gusts up to 30 kt and seas 5 to 7 ft. For the Gale Watch,
north winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 35 kt and seas 4 to 7
ft possible.

* WHERE...Coastal waters from Little River Inlet to Murrells
Inlet SC out 20 nm.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until noon EDT Tuesday.
For the Gale Watch, from Tuesday afternoon through late
Tuesday night.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible
hazardous conditions.  Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter
course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and seas.

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. A strong north to south
longshore current is also expected.

* WHERE...In North Carolina, Coastal Pender and Coastal New
Hanover Counties. In South Carolina, Coastal Horry and Coastal
Georgetown Counties.

* WHEN...From 6 AM EDT Monday through Monday evening.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
