...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM EDT
FOR FRANKLIN...STEPHENS AND SOUTHWESTERN OCONEE COUNTIES...

At 416 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 10 miles southwest of Walhalla to 3 miles northwest of
Carnesville, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

Locations impacted include...
Toccoa, Carnesville, Westminster, Lavonia, Gumlog, Martin, Avalon,
Tugaloo State Park, Boydville, and Eastanolee.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

If on or near Lake Hartwell north of the Interstate 85 bridge, get
away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember,
lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm.
If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by
lightning. Move to safe shelter now!  Do not be caught on the water
in a thunderstorm.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
