At 328 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Gaston, or 8 miles south of Red Bank, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Cayce, Red Bank, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, Gaston, SC State Farmer's Market, Sandy Run, Swansea, Pelion, New Zion, Lexington County Airport At Pelion, Lexington Acres Pond, Peachtree Rock, Edmund, Silver Lake, Dixiana, and Red Bank Sports Complex. ...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with Heat Index values from 105 to 110 continue. * WHERE...Portions of east central Georgia and central South Carolina. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
