* WHAT...For the Gale Warning, west winds to 35 knot gales with
gusts up to 45 knots and waves 8 to 13 feet expected. For the
Small Craft Advisory, south to southwest winds 15 to 25 knots
with gusts up to 40 knots and waves 2 to 5 feet.

* WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Conneaut OH to
Ripley NY.

* WHEN...For the Gale Warning, from 10 AM this morning to 4 AM
EST Thursday. For the Small Craft Advisory, until 10 AM EST
this morning.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
1 PM EST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4
to 6 inches with locally higher amounts up to 8 inches. Winds
gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Northern Erie and Southern Erie counties.

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 1 PM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning and evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow rates in excess of 1 inch per hour are
most probable late Wednesday evening and overnight. Gusty,
westerly winds up to 40 mph could lead to brief whiteouts near
the I-90 corridor. Wind chill values will fall into the low
teens Wednesday night.
