...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT SATURDAY... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110 expected. * WHERE...Adams, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heat and humidity are now expected to continue to make dangerous conditions all the way through Saturday evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an air-conditioned room. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Review heat safety and preparedness information at weather.gov/safety/heat. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
