The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 690 Kittitas Valley, 691
Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon, 691 Lower Columbia Basin of
Washington and 703 Warm Springs Reservation.

* TIMING...From Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening.

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 25 to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Afternoon values of 15 to 25 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Hot conditions with afternoon high temperatures of 95 to 105
degrees expected. This will pose a moderate to major risk of
heat-related illness.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and northeast Oregon
and central, south central, and southeast Washington.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM PDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
