The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Gale Watch...
which is in effect from late Monday night through Tuesday
afternoon.

* Winds...South 20 to 30 kt this afternoon. South 30 to 35 kt
with gusts to 40 knots possible on Tuesday.

* Seas...Steep 7 to 9 ft this afternoon. Steep to very steep 9 to
11 feet Tuesday.

* Areas affected...Areas between 5 and 40 nm from shore, except
closer to shore within the vicinity of Cape Blanco will be
affected by conditions hazardous to small craft. Hazardous seas
and gales will affect most of the waters north of Cape Blanco
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Small Craft Advisory means that winds and seas will create a
potential hazard to smaller vessels and inexperienced mariners.

A Gale Watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots has significantly increased, but the specific timing
and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to provide
additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider
altering their plans.
