...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EST THIS EVENING... ...LOW WATER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...For the Gale Warning, west winds 30 to 35 knots with gusts up to 40 knots and waves 5 to 9 feet. For the Low Water Advisory, abnormally low water levels expected. * WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from The Islands to Vermilion OH, and the open waters of Lake Erie from The Islands to Vermilion OH. * WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 10 PM EST this evening. For the Low Water Advisory, until 4 PM EST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Below normal water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The critical mark for safe navigation is 8 inches below low water datum. Water levels are expected to drop to as much as a foot below the critical mark this morning through this afternoon. Water levels will slowly climb back above the critical mark by this evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for hazardous conditions. Mariners should navigate shallow waters with extreme caution due to below normal water levels. &&

...FLASH FREEZE POSSIBLE EARLY FRIDAY MORNING... Temperatures will rapidly fall below freezing from west to east early Friday morning. This will begin around 3 AM along the I-75 corridor in Northwest Ohio, with all of northern Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania expected to be below freezing by 6 AM. Roads, bridges, parking lots, sidewalks, and other untreated surfaces that are still wet from rain and snowmelt may freeze leading to patches of black ice. Plan on giving yourself extra time to reach your destination during the Friday morning commute. Use caution while walking on untreated sidewalks, stairs, and parking lots.
