For the Small Craft Advisory, west winds 15 to 25 knots and waves 2 to 4 feet expected. * WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay to Vermilion OH. * WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Below normal water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As of 7:35 AM, the water level at Toledo is 13.6 inches below low water datum. water level at Toledo was -5.1 inches below low water datum. The critical mark for safe navigation is 6 inches below low water datum. Winds have begun to weaken and shift across the lake, resulting in a seiche currently. By this afternoon, water levels should consistently remain above the critical mark for safe navigation. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions. Mariners should navigate shallow waters with extreme caution due to below normal water levels. &&
