...A burst of snow showers will affect Geauga...Cuyahoga...Lake...
Lorain and Ashtabula Counties Until 800 PM EST....

At 635 PM EST, radar indicated snow showers filling in across
northeast Ohio. A heavier burst also extended along a line extending
from 13 miles north of Ashtabula to 7 miles northwest of Euclid to
15 miles north of Avon, moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARDS INCLUDE...
Wind gusts to 40 mph...
Visibility dropping to less than three quarters of a mile...
Up to 1 inch of quick snow accumulation...

This area of snow will affect motorists traveling across the greater
Cleveland area and on Interstate 90 and Highways 20 and 6 east of
Cleveland.

Locations impacted include...
Cleveland, Lorain, Elyria, Painesville, Ashtabula, Willowick,
Conneaut, Vermilion, Chardon, Fairport Harbor, Geneva-On-The-Lake,
Parma, Lakewood, Euclid, Mentor, Cleveland Heights, Strongsville,
Brunswick, Westlake, and North Royalton.

Use extra caution if you must travel. Rapid changes in visibility and
potentially slick roads may lead to accidents.

...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM
EST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Northwest winds 30 to 35 knots with gusts up to 45 knots
expected.

* WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay to
Conneaut OH, and the open waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay
to Conneaut OH.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Some ice
movement is possible as well with the strong winds over the
lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Additional snow
accumulations between 1 and 3 inches with locally higher amounts
possible in the higher terrain of the snowbelt. Winds gusting as
high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Ohio.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow
can reduce visibility this evening and tonight. The hazardous
conditions could impact the evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...After a few hours of dry weather this
afternoon, snow showers and squalls, wind gusts up to 45 mph, and
falling temperatures will lead to blowing and drifting snow and
hazardous road conditions this evening.

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills of 15 to 24 below expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio.

* WHEN...From 1 AM to noon EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause
frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind chill values may drop as low as 15 below
zero again late Saturday night into Sunday morning for portions of
Northeast Ohio and additional cold weather advisories may be
issued.
