THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, southwest winds 15 to 25
knots with gusts up to 35 knots and waves 6 to 9 feet. For the
Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate
of 2 cm per hour or greater may rapidly accumulate on vessels.

* WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Vermilion to
Geneva-on-the-Lake OH.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 7 PM EST Saturday.
For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, until 2 PM EST this
afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2
and 8 inches. The greatest storm total snowfall will favor the
higher terrain of southern and eastern Cuyahoga County, southern
Lake County, Geauga County, and inland Ashtabula County.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Ohio.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening
commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The wintry weather could impact the morning
and evening commute today. Wind chills will be around Zero degrees
this morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

The Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Turnpike and
Infrastructure Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all
travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel. Visit www.ohgo.com

Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden
changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the
motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your
destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially
cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is
winterized and in good working order.
