For the Gale Warning, west winds 30 to 40 knots with gusts up to 45 knots and waves 9 to 15 feet expected. * WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Geneva-on-the- Lake OH to Ripley NY. * WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 7 AM EST this morning. For the Gale Warning, from 7 AM this morning to midnight EST tonight. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for hazardous conditions. &&

...FLASH FREEZE POSSIBLE EARLY FRIDAY MORNING... Temperatures will rapidly fall below freezing from west to east early Friday morning. This will begin around 3 AM along the I-75 corridor in Northwest Ohio, with all of northern Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania expected to be below freezing by 6 AM. Roads, bridges, parking lots, sidewalks, and other untreated surfaces that are still wet from rain and snowmelt may freeze leading to patches of black ice. Plan on giving yourself extra time to reach your destination during the Friday morning commute. Use caution while walking on untreated sidewalks, stairs, and parking lots.
