For the Gale Warning, southwest winds to 40 knots on Wednesday shifting to the west Wednesday night and waves 10 to 13 feet expected. * WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Ripley to Buffalo. * WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 10 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Wednesday. For the Gale Warning, from 7 AM Wednesday to 7 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. ...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING... ...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...For the Lake Effect Snow Warning, moderate lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 2 to 4 inches in the most persistent lake snows. A lake band will move back into the warned area late this afternoon before moving north of the warned area later in the evening. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations of greater than 7 inches possible in the most persistent lake snows. Winds could gust to 50 mph Wednesday night through Thursday night, producing considerable blowing and drifting snow. * WHERE...Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties. * WHEN...For the Lake Effect Snow Warning, until 7 PM EST this evening. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Wednesday evening through late Thursday night. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult at times. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday evening commutes. Gusty winds could down tree branches and cause isolated power outages Wednesday night through Thursday night. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands.
