...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR NORTHWESTERN SULLIVAN AND EAST CENTRAL WAYNE COUNTIES... At 521 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms had produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. No additional rainfall is expected but continued runoff indicates that flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Liberty, Damascus, Callicoon, Cochecton, Jeffersonville, White Sulphur Springs, Hazel, Roscoe, Livingston Manor, Hortonville, Fosterdale, Parksville, Hankins, Stalker, Willowemoc, Rockland, Fremont, Callicoon Center, Shandelee and Briscoe. Rain has temporarily ended, but additional rainfall will be possible later tonight. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
