At 101 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Long Neck Point to near Port Jefferson Harbor, moving northeast at 50 knots. Locations impacted include... Long Neck Point, Horton Point, Smithtown Bay, Cold Spring Harbor, Stratford Shoal, Madison Reef, Huntington Bay, Bridgeport, Central Long Island Sound, and Dering Harbor. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours.
