Island Sound.

* WHERE...Long Island Sound east of Port Jefferson and New
Haven, and Peconic and Gardiners Bays.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 6 AM EST Friday.
For the Gale Warning, from 6 AM Friday to midnight EST Friday
night.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

...ISOLATED STRONG WIND GUSTS OVERNIGHT...

The passage of a cold front tonight will allow for increasing west
winds. Isolated gusts to around 45 mph will be possible at times,
especially right after the frontal passage. This could produce
localized travel difficulties, as well as a few downed tree
limbs.

winds. Isolated gusts to around 40 kt will be possible at times,
especially right after the frontal passage. Mariners should be
prepared for these locally higher gusts overnight.
