...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST TUESDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations 8 to 16 inches in the most persistent lake snows over southern Jefferson County and the northwest portion of the Tug Hill Plateau. * WHERE...Jefferson and Lewis Counties. The greatest accumulations will be across southern Jefferson County and the northwest portion of the Tug Hill Plateau. * WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult with deep snow cover roads and very poor visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday evening commute. Significant impacts are possible on Interstate 81 this evening between Mannsville and Watertown. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
