West winds 15 to 25 knots tonight through Saturday becoming southwest to 30 knots Saturday night. Waves 3 to 5 feet today building to 7 to 10 feet by Saturday night. * WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Ripley to Buffalo. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Winds and/or waves will cause hazardous conditions that could capsize or damage small craft. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions. &&

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 6 to 12 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties. * WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the evening commute today. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There will be a break in the accumulating snow this morning, before heavy snow redevelops off Lake Erie by midday or early afternoon and continues tonight. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just a few miles away.
