For the Small Craft Advisory, northwest winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt and seas 3 to 5 feet expected. * WHERE...Long Island Sound. * WHEN...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, until 6 PM EST this evening. For the Small Craft Advisory, until 10 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of stability. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area or conduct mitigation. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions. &&

...BLOWING SNOW INTO EARLY THIS MORNING... Some patchy areas of blowing and drifting snow can be expected, especially in the vicinity of farms and open fields into early this morning. Visibility may quickly be reduced to a half mile or less at times, and drifting snow could result in snow covered roads in spots. Extra caution should be used if traveling into early this morning. Be prepared for slippery conditions in some spots and allow for extra spacing between vehicles.
