...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Two to three feet of inundation above ground level in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...In Connecticut, Southern Fairfield and Southern New Haven Counties. In New York, Southern Westchester County. * WHEN...Until 6 PM EDT this evening. * COASTAL IMPACTS...Locally moderate flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. * SHOREFRONT/BEACH IMPACTS...Breaking waves of 2 to 4 feet, along with elevated water levels, will result in dune erosion with damage to a few waterfront structures across southeast and east facing shorelines. Splashover over seawalls and overwashes where dune structures are compromised may locally exacerbate flooding of roadways and vulnerable structures behind protective dunes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. && Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour. ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Minor to locally moderate tidal flooding is expected around the times of high tide from Saturday into Sunday. * WHERE...The Hudson River in Westchester, Rockland, Orange and Putnam counties in southeastern New York... * WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Minor to locally moderate tidal flooding in low lying areas along the river around the times of high tide. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 612 AM EDT, Water levels along the Hudson River will increase with successive high tide cycles.
