...EXTREME HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH
SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with afternoon high temperatures
of 98 to 105 degrees.

* WHERE...White Pine, Northern Lander and Northern Eureka, Southern
Lander and Southern Eureka, Northern Elko, Ruby Mountains and East
Humboldt Range, Southwest Elko, Humboldt, Northeastern Nye, and
Northwestern Nye Counties.

* WHEN...From Thursday morning through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM PDT WEDNESDAY...

An Air Quality Action Day has been forecast for southwest Elko
County for elevated particulate matter levels. These levels are
anticipated to be Orange/unhealthy for sensitive groups, and an Air
Quality Alert is in effect until 5 AM PDT Wednesday.

Particulate matter levels are expected to be unhealthy for sensitive
