...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...West Central Socorro County in central New Mexico...

* WHEN...Until 445 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 150 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow
moving thunderstorms near and south of Magdalena. This will cause
arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 1.25 and 1.75 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Magdalena.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water
crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

- At 1255 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This  will cause arroyo and small stream flooding.
Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Mainly rural areas of West Central Socorro and Northeastern
Catron Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
