...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM MDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...West Central Curry County in east central New Mexico... South Central Quay County in east central New Mexico... Northwestern Roosevelt County in east central New Mexico... * WHEN...Until 1145 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 851 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 0.75 and 1.75 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. ...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR NORTHEASTERN DE BACA, SOUTHERN QUAY AND NORTHWESTERN ROOSEVELT COUNTIES... At 808 PM MDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area, which has caused Alamosa Creek to overtop NM Highway 252 north of House. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Public reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
