For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 6 to 12 feet expected in the surf zone. * WHERE...Eastern Monmouth. * WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, from Tuesday morning through Friday afternoon. For the High Surf Advisory, from 8 AM Wednesday to 6 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS....Significant beach erosion is likely through this week and into the weekend. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Always obey posted Beach Flags. If you enter the surf zone, always have a floatation device with you and swim near a lifeguard if possible. If caught in a rip current, relax and float and do not swim against the current. If able, swim parallel to the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&

For the Gale Watch, northeast winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and seas 8 to 13 ft possible. * WHERE...Portions of Atlantic coastal waters. * WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 6 PM EDT Tuesday. For the Gale Watch, from Tuesday evening through Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
