...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ THIS EVENING FOR VERY LOW HUMIDITY AND STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 204 Eastern Panhandle/Crescent Lake NWR, Fire Weather Zone 206 Sandhills/Valentine NWR/Nebraska National Forest, Fire Weather Zone 208 Niobrara Valley/Fort Niobrara NWR/Samuel R McKelvie National Forest, Fire Weather Zone 209 Loup Rivers Basin, Fire Weather Zone 210 Frenchman Basin and Fire Weather Zone 219 Loess Plains. * TIMING...Until 9 PM CDT Saturday. * WINDS...South 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph, strongest east of Highway 183. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Falling to around 15 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Middle 60s east, lower 70s west. * LIGHTNING...None expected. * IMPACTS...Any fire starts may spread rapidly and be difficult to control. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...humidity recovery will again be poor Saturday night into Sunday, with peak values around 40 to 60 percent.
