Special Weather Statement
Issued: 12:56 AM Dec. 28, 2025 – National Weather Service
...SNOW, GUSTY WINDS, AND FREEZING DRIZZLE ACROSS WESTERN AND CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA THIS EVENING... A band of snow will move across the state from west to east this evening. Gusty winds will combine with the snow to reduce visibility as low as one half mile for an hour or two at any given location. Total snow accumulations around 1 to 2 inches are expected. Before the snow arrives, a period of light freezing drizzle could produce a glaze of ice accumulation. The highest chances for freezing drizzle this evening are in south central North Dakota. If you have travel plans, prepare for difficult driving and rapidly changing conditions. Be sure to keep up to date on the latest road conditions, and carry a winter survival kit in your vehicle. Use extra caution and be prepared for reduced visibilities and slippery roads.
