...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 AM EDT THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of piedmont and western North Carolina, including
the following counties, in piedmont North Carolina, Alexander,
Catawba and Iredell. In western North Carolina, Caldwell.

* WHEN...Until 415 AM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1014 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hickory, Lenoir, Newton, St. Stephens, Longview, Sawmills,
Granite Falls, Gamewell, Bethlehem, Hudson, Cajah's Mountain,
Rhodhiss, Lake Hickory, Mountain View, Lake Rhodhiss, Lookout
Shoals Lake, Northlakes, Little River In Alexander County,
Ellendale and Oxford.
