Flood Watch
Issued: 5:38 PM Sep. 15, 2025 – National Weather Service
...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING THROUGH LATE TUESDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Edgecombe, Franklin, Halifax, Nash, Vance, Warren and Wilson. * WHEN...From 11 PM EDT this evening through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An offshore low will track into east and northeastern sections of North Carolina tonight through late Tuesday night. Anomalous moisture and lift will overspread the region, focused over the northeast Piedmont to the northern Coastal Plain from late tonight through Tuesday evening. While the region has been dry over the last several weeks with higher flash flood guidance, training storms with high rainfall rates could support flash flooding in the watch area. Expected rainfall totals could range from 2 to 5 inches. Isolated higher amounts of 5 to 8 inches are also possible. This amount of rainfall could lead to flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
