...INCREASED FIRE DANGER IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 5 PM TODAY FOR NORTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA... Southwesterly wind gusts of 15-25 mph combined with minimum relative humidity values of 30-40% will result in an increased fire danger across northeast North Carolina from late this morning through the afternoon. Residents are urged to exercise caution handling any potential ignition source...including machinery... cigarettes...and matches. Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses and tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread quickly.
