Waters from Little River Inlet SC to South Santee River SC from 20 to 60 NM... Waters from Surf City NC to Little River Inlet SC from 20 to 60 NM... At 608 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 nm southeast of A R 445 to near Paradise Reef, moving south at 20 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Wilmington, University Of North Carolina At Wilmington, Kings Grant, Windemere, Wilmington International Airport, Masonboro, Murrayville, Silver Lake, Ogden, Cape Fear Hospital and New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
