FOR SOUTHERN RANDOLPH AND NORTHWESTERN CHATHAM COUNTIES...

At 720 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Asheboro,
moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Asheboro, North Carolina Zoo, Siler City, Seagrove, Ramseur,
Franklinville, Staley, Ulah, Coleridge, and Hasty.

This includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 63 and 76.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Straight line winds can blow down trees, power lines, and damage
mobile homes and other buildings. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure
until the storm has passed. Stay away from windows as flying debris
generated by damaging winds can be deadly.

Southwestern Durham County in central North Carolina...
Southeastern Orange County in central North Carolina...

* WHEN...Until 900 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 654 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This  will cause urban and small stream flooding.
Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Fearrington, Jordan Lake,
Parkwood, and Bethesda.
