At 546 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms from Moncure to New Hill and Apex, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Cary, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Angier, Apex, and Holly Springs. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. ...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Durham and Wake. * WHEN...Until 700 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 428 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms will move into and through the area over the next hour. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. The threat for additional rainfall over already impacted areas would result in additional minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Wake Forest, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, RDU International, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, William B Umstead State Park, Research Triangle, Lake Wheeler, Carpenter, Falls Lake Boat Ramp, Lake Benson, Rollingview Marina, Falls Lake, Falls Lake State Rec Area and New Hill. ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Johnston and Wake. * WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 256 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
