capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 8 and
11 inches with locally higher amounts possible. Winds gusting as
high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Beaufort, Greene, Lenoir, Martin, and Pitt Counties.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel
treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Gusty winds could
bring down tree damage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
