* WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected.

* WHERE...Coastal Onslow, Duplin, Inland Onslow, Jones, Lenoir,
Northern Craven, Pamlico, and Southern Craven Counties.

* WHEN...From noon today to 6 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Threat for reaching heat index values of 105
or slightly higher in place ahead of afternoon convection (20-45%
PoPs) along afternoon seabreeze. Rain and shade from debris clouds
will quickly cut down heat.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
