...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected. * WHERE...Coastal Onslow, Duplin, Inland Onslow, Jones, Lenoir, Northern Craven, Pamlico, and Southern Craven Counties. * WHEN...From noon today to 6 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Threat for reaching heat index values of 105 or slightly higher in place ahead of afternoon convection (20-45% PoPs) along afternoon seabreeze. Rain and shade from debris clouds will quickly cut down heat. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside.
