At 910 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 20 miles south of Belt, or 33 miles west of Stanford, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Geyser, Sluice Boxes State Park, Raynesford, and Monarch. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
