...A Strong Pacific Cold Front Will Bring Gusty to Strong Winds
Over Central and North-central Montana This Evening...

Gusty to strong westerly winds will continue over much of central
and north-central Montana through this evening. The combination
of the frontal passage with scattered showers and isolated
thunderstorms will result in wind gusts of between 45 to 55 mph.

These winds may cause more damage to trees and power lines than
what is normally observed due to most trees being fully leafed out
and some trees being weakened by previous storms. Additionally,
any damaged tree branches may break loose and become projectiles.

Pedestrians and those outdoors should watch for flying debris and
avoid being near trees if possible during times of stronger
winds. Also, those traveling along north to south oriented
roadways should be prepared for strong cross winds.
