At 758 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Mount Herman, or 16 miles northwest of
Franklinton, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Franklinton, Magnolia, Tylertown, Osyka, and Mount Herman.

This includes Interstate 55 in Mississippi between mile markers 4 and
8.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Persons in outdoor campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy
shelter until these storms pass.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...North Central Tangipahoa Parish in southeastern
Louisiana...
Northwestern Washington Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
Pike County in southern Mississippi...
Walthall County in southern Mississippi...

* WHEN...Until 1045 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 743 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mccomb, Magnolia, Summit, Tylertown, Salem, Mount Herman, Dexter
and Mccomb Airport.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
