* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Missouri, including the following
counties, northern Benton, northwestern Miller and Morgan.

* WHEN...Until 1230 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 833 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Eldon, Versailles, Lincoln, Cole Camp, Stover, Barnett,
Syracuse, Crockerville, Mora, Florence, Edmonson, Brandon,
Palo Pinto, Racket, Lake of The Ozarks, Truman Lake and
Truman State Park.

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 109.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and central, east central,
south central, southwest, and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
