...EXTREME HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values between 100 and 108 possible. * WHERE...Alcona, Alpena, Arenac, Cheboygan, Gladwin, Iosco, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, and Presque Isle Counties. * WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tuesday will likely feature the most extreme conditions for most, with heat indices exceeding 105 degrees. Although mid-week temperatures are dependent on thunderstorm development, prolonged high humidity and limited overnight cooling will lead to compounding heat stress throughout the week.
